Privacy Policy

Last updated 31 August 2026 · ColbyCo Labs LLC

EarnWhile is in development and has not been released. No earning provider is enabled, and no opportunities are available. Cash out is unavailable, and no payout has been processed. This policy describes how this website works today, and how the EarnWhile iOS app is designed to handle personal information. Anything below about opportunity providers describes intended future behaviour, not something happening now. It will be updated before the app becomes available, and again whenever a new service provider or opportunity provider is added.

1. Who we are

EarnWhile is a product of ColbyCo Labs LLC, a limited liability company registered in the United States. ColbyCo Labs LLC is the data controller for personal information described in this policy.

You can reach us about anything in this policy at support@earnwhile.app.

2. This website

This site is a static informational website. It has no accounts, no sign-up form, no comment system and no shopping cart.

  • We set no cookies. There is no analytics script, no advertising pixel and no third-party tracker on this site.
  • We do not ask you for personal information. There is no form to fill in. The only contact route is an email link, and emailing us is entirely your choice.
  • Server logs. The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes standard request data — including IP address, user agent, and the page requested — in order to serve the site and protect it from abuse. We do not use this data to build profiles of visitors.

If you email us, we receive whatever you put in that email, and we keep the correspondence for as long as needed to deal with your query and to keep a record of it.

3. The EarnWhile app

EarnWhile is in development and has not been released. This section describes the data handling it is being built around, not processing that is happening to a member of the public today. No earning provider is enabled, and no opportunities are available. We will update it before release if anything changes.

Information you give us

  • Email address — to create and sign in to your account. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive the identifier and email address that service returns.
  • Display name — optional, and shown only to you.
  • Preferences — the amount of time you usually have, the opportunity categories you're interested in, your preferred payout method and any weekly goal you set. A stored payout preference does nothing today: cash out is unavailable, and no payout has been processed.

Information collected automatically

  • Device model and operating system version — to support the app and detect abuse.
  • A device identifier we generate — see the next section.
  • Activity within the app — which opportunities you view, start and complete, so we can show your progress, credit rewards correctly, and improve how opportunities are ranked. No earning provider is enabled, and no opportunities are available. There is nothing to view, start or complete today, and no such activity is sent to any opportunity provider.

Information used only on your device

Your country and language are read from your device settings and used locally to work out which opportunities you're eligible for. Your cached opportunity list is stored on your device. This information is not transmitted to us as part of that process. If you ever choose to start an opportunity, some of it would necessarily be shared with that opportunity provider — but no earning provider is enabled, and no opportunities are available. so no such sharing happens today.

4. Device identifier

When the app first runs, it generates a random identifier for your device and stores it in the iOS Keychain. It is not Apple's advertising identifier, it is not the vendor identifier, and it cannot be used to link you across other companies' apps.

We use it to associate your account with the devices you sign in from, which is one of the signals that helps us detect fraudulent reward claims.

One thing worth knowing: because it lives in the Keychain, this identifier survives deleting the app. If you delete EarnWhile and reinstall it, the same device identifier is used. That is deliberate — it is part of what makes it useful against repeat abuse — but most people assume deleting an app resets everything, so we would rather say it plainly. The intended design is that deleting your account clears it — see section 8, which explains that account deletion is not available in any released product yet.

5. Advertising and tracking

The app does not track you across other companies' apps or websites. It does not use Apple's advertising identifier (IDFA), and it contains no advertising SDK, no analytics SDK and no attribution SDK.

If that ever changes — for example if an opportunity provider requires attribution to credit you correctly — we will update this policy, and iOS will ask for your permission through the standard App Tracking Transparency prompt before anything of that kind happens.

6. Service providers

We keep this list short on purpose. At present it is:

  • Supabase — authentication, database and backend hosting for the app.
  • Cloudflare — hosting and protection for this website.
  • Apple — App Store distribution, and Sign in with Apple if you use it.
  • Google — only if you choose to sign in with a Google account.

These providers process information on our instructions in order to deliver their service. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.

7. Opportunity providers

No earning provider is enabled, and no opportunities are available. No opportunity, survey or reward activity is transmitted to any opportunity provider today, because there is no such provider to transmit it to. If and when that changes, this is how it would work, and this section will be updated to name each provider before it is enabled.

If you chose to start an opportunity, we would hand you to that provider — and in order for them to credit you when you finished, we would have to give them a reference identifying your session. Providers would also receive basic device and locale information needed to determine eligibility. None of this is happening now.

Once you were with a provider, their privacy policy would govern what they collect. We will identify the provider before you start, and we will list every integrated provider here. That list is empty today.

8. Retention and deletion

None of this is in effect yet. Account deletion is not available yet. EarnWhile is in development and has not been released. There is no released app to delete an account from, so nothing in this section describes something you can do today. What follows is the intended design. It has not been integrated into a released build or activated, and the retention rules below have not been decided.

We keep account information for as long as an account exists. Support emails are kept for as long as we need them to handle a query and keep a record of it.

Intended, and not yet available: deleting your account from inside the app. The design is that doing so removes your profile, your preferences and the device identifier described in section 4. That path does not exist in any released product, and this section will be updated to describe what a released build actually does before that build is available.

Retention after deletion is not settled. Records of rewards and payments may need to be kept after an account is deleted. Which records, on what legal basis, and for how long are open questions we have not answered, and we will not state a period or a basis here until we have. No earning provider is enabled, and no opportunities are available. Cash out is unavailable, and no payout has been processed. — so no such record exists today.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, to receive a copy in a portable format, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Residents of California, and residents of the EU and UK, have specific rights under their own laws.

Email support@earnwhile.app and we will respond within the timeframe the applicable law requires. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

10. Children

EarnWhile is not intended for children. The app is not directed at anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Security

Account data is held in a database with row-level access rules, so one account cannot read another account's data. Balances and reward records are written only by our backend — the app itself has no ability to alter them. Traffic between the app and our backend is encrypted in transit.

No system is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise. If a breach affects your personal information, we will notify you as required by law.

12. Changes to this policy

We will update this page when our practices change, and always before the app is released. The “last updated” date at the top shows the current version. Material changes will be communicated in the app.
